Change of Mind

When I was young
I used to yearn
for glamour, wealth and fame.
I felt certain
I’d be happy
when strangers knew my name.

Now that I’m old
I have to smile.
It’s quite enough to be
content at home,
close friends nearby,
in tranquil privacy.
