Dear Readers,

Self-discovery is a lifelong process. Each step of our life’s journey offers an opportunity for growth, for change, for re-inventing one’s self.

Experiencing life-altering situations such as illness or the death of a loved one, we find ourselves reacting in ways we never thought we would, or could. Sandra Hollman, in “Illness changes life’s course,” provides a glimpse into her experience. Margaret Artman, in “Husband fosters wife’s independence,” writes of her journey in the wake of her husband’s ill health.

We find new strengths and learn new skills in the face of adversity; we discover new paths and new passions, as Ramona Lampe did. She tells us about it in “Accident leads to new passion.”
